and water.Departing from Amsterdam, we will begin our tour in ZaansesChans, a picturesque recreation of the pre-industrial complex dominated by windmills that was born on the banks of the Zaan River during the 17th century.
Our second stop is in the town of Edam, known internationally for its cheese with a designation of origin, although with much more to discover, as its historic center has been considered a World Heritage Site since 1996.
On our way to Volendam we will stop at a farm where they will talk to us about the traditional production process of Dutch cheese and, of course, where we can enjoy tasting a wide variety of these.
Our next visit awaits us in Volendam. Here you can immerse yourself in the most authentic Dutch culture by strolling along its old pier, tasting the fish of the area and enjoying the result of one of the masterpieces of hydraulic engineering, the IJsselmeer
.Finally, we will head to Marken, a territory that forms a peninsula in the Markenmeer, although formerly it was an island inhabited by fishermen from the area. Its characteristic architecture attracts tourists and travelers all year round.
