There are many Dutch towns, cities, and villages that merit a visit, but one of them is certainly Giethoorn. Often referred to as the ‘Little Venice’of the Netherlands, only accessible by boat and with an absence of roads and cars. This picturesque village located in the north of the country consists of islands that are connected by approximately 180 bridges. It’s beautiful canals, picturesque wooden bridges and farmhouses with centuries-old thatched roofs will give you a unique fairy-tale vibe. We invite you for a canal cruise to experience the peace, tranquility and natural beauty of this magical village. Giethoorn is also known for its excellent restaurants where you’ll be able to have lunch ( not included ) and have free time to explore Giethoorn yourself.
Take in the fairy-tale charms of Hasselt by foot, the most intimate way to get to know one of Hollands most delightful riverside towns. You will walk directly into the Old Town, following its cobblestone streets passing medieval houses. History is on the streets in Hasselt. You walk with your experienced private guide along the atmospheric canals and the narrow streets. The Hanseatic city Hasselt is full of stories from a far and less distant past.Discover why Hasselt is also called 'small Amsterdam'!
All our tours begin with getting to know our guests and understanding their wishes. The itinerary is flexible and we can add special requests and will not rush you around. Starting from your hotel or vacation address, your private guide will pick you up with our comfortable car to start this beautiful day.
In our comfortable car we drive you to Giethoorn in about 90 minutes. On this journey we drive through the typically Dutch polder landscape. The first stop of the day is the picturesque village of Giethoorn. The center is car free and the only way to get around is by boat or by foot. During a short walking tour your guide will point out some highlights of Giethoorn and you will experience a 1 hour canal cruise which is included in this tour. After visiting Giethoorn you will drive through the countryside to Hasselt a storybook village and not known by tourism. You will wander with you private guide through the old town’s cobblestone streets and learn about its history. During the day you’ll have some time to relax and sample some typical and delicious Dutch food like pancakes, herring or kibbeling and perhaps drink a Jenever….Cheers!
